Capanes project: the personality of Kliff Sand

A luxury flat located in the Capanes del Golf urbanization in Benahavís (Málaga) is the latest project in which Cifre Cerámica materials shine with their own light. The Kliff series has been chosen by architect Claudia Muñoz as the flooring for almost the entire building. We talked to her to find out more about the project.

What Cifre Cerámica materials have been used in Proyecto Capanes?

We have opted for the Kliff series as flooring. It has been used throughout the interior except in the bathrooms (Kliff Sand 90×90). On the 55m2 outdoor terrace we have used Kliff Sand 90×90 C3 tiles with a non-slip finish.

What does Kliff Sand bring to the project?

In this case we were looking for a paving in neutral grey-beige tones, but with character. We really liked the veins of the Kliff series, as they add personality without losing elegance. We also liked the versatility of the product in terms of sizes, finishes… as it can be used both outdoors and indoors. In addition, the flooring was laid on top of the existing one, so we needed it to be thin.

Where is this house located? What period and style is the building from?

It is a flat located in the Capanes del Golf urbanisation in Benahavís. It is a private luxury development, built in 2007.

Is it a new construction or a refurbishment? What was the purpose of the project?

It was a reform in which the main objective was to enlarge spaces, knocking down walls such as the one that separated the dining room from the kitchen, to convert the whole space into a large living room with an integrated kitchen. For the interior design we have had the collaboration of local craftsmen with whom we work regularly.

What was your inspiration for the design of this house?

Whenever I am faced with a project my main intention is that the spaces flow in a clean and orderly manner. Casa Capanes was no exception.

What was the biggest challenge you faced in designing the project?

To change the old-fashioned atmosphere of the house and create a sophisticated ambience.

What materials and colours did you use in the house and why?

As in the case of the Kliff Sand series, we have opted for neutral tones that create a sense of harmony and well-being. For us, the house is a refuge to come to when you come home from work, on a stressful day… A place to find peace.
